  We had a really lovely stay at the cottage, to celebrate my dad's 80th with family. It was a really relaxing and welcoming home with everything you could possibly need... read more provided already. We enjoyed long, summer nights sat by the firepit outside and enjoyed a bbq overlooking the little, babbling stream behind the cottage. The area of countryside surrounding the cottage is beautiful. We were lucky to have such great weather as it meant that an otherwise boggy walk to the local pub, was actually quite enjoyable with scenic views all around. I would highly recommend the cottage for a stay with family or friends and we wouldn't hesitate to book again!

  We stayed with our two teenage children and two dogs and this place was perfect for all. We were made to feel extremely welcome almost like we were old friends... read more visiting, we were invited to arrive earlier than the check in time and to stay later than check out time which was so thoughtful and generous. The location is beautiful and the cottage a true gem of a find. A great location for us as we wanted some longer walks which our hosts advised us of some good local ones and where to park and what time to go to avoid most of the crowds. Would highly recommend to anyone.

It was such an easy stay with small children, we had everything we needed, and the stair gate made life so easy!
There were lots of lovely touches like providing snacks, coffee and jams. And Louise even provided some glasses for the solar eclipse!!
The surroundings are really peaceful and the kids loved the 2 Shetland ponies in the field opposite. There are lots of options for walks from the cottage, or a short drive away. The Black Lion pub did a great roast dinner.
I found there was so much thought put into the stay and Louise was very accommodating. Would definitely recommend!

Previous visitors had remarked on how well equipped and stocked the cottage was and I would not disagree.

The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is that the pictures were a little deceptive with regard to the kitchen diner. We had 4 adults and 2 small children and it was very cosy. Not sure how we could manage with 8. Additionally, the hosts Shetland ponies were lovely and adored my the grandchildren but with someone just walking in the grounds to feed them unannounced presented a risk with having 3 dogs running free, which is one of the reasons we chose the cottage.
This would be an amazing guaranteed 5star in the summer when the fantastic outside space could be used fully. Thanks Louise.

The home is gorgeous, lots of space, plenty of kitchen equipment pots pans plates etc plus basics for cooking.
The host was... read more kind and attentive and went out of their way to ensure we had a very comfortable stay.
Even though it had snowed when we visited the home was very cosy heating and a log burner.
Would 100% recommend this place to anybody wanting to visit the area.

  Our stay at Wetley Cottage was fantastic! The place has obviously been designed with care and thought in every detail! One of the most well stocked places I’ve ever stayed... read more with everything you could possibly need! The whole cottage was very homely, cosy and comfortable. The outdoor areas had so many different options to sit and relax! Shetland ponies were an adorable bonus!

Louise was so lovely and helpful! Even coming to tell us that the Northern Lights were visible! Plus many other super local recommendations!

The place was private at the end of a lane. The surrounding nature was superb, we heard owls and saw many other interesting birds.

I would recommend Wetley Cottage to all! Perfect in Winter and I imagine just as wonderful all year round!

Such a quaint and warm summer house in beautiful surroundings and a fantastic hot tub ordered in . Opened the bedroom curtains to two Little ponies wondering in the field . This cottage is situated in the most scenic area with so much to do all around . Our highlight was Thor’s cave not far away . It was so great to be able to bring our dogs and the hosts were so friendly and welcoming . Thank you for one of the best stays away from home we have had .

The deck overlooking the stream was our go-to spot for morning coffee and evening relaxation. “The Hive” garden cabin was an unexpected delight, offering a cozy retreat whether for some quiet reading time or just to enjoy the outdoors in comfort.
Our stay was unforgettable. It’s a true gem that offers the perfect blend of comfort, charm, and tranquillity.

Initially we had planned to eat out but the cottage is so peaceful and... read more quiet we decided to stay put and eat in the garden by “The Hive”, a summer house, which is idyllic. It’s a sheltered lounge by the outside dinning area so we were able to eat and relax next to the stream.
The bedrooms were very comfortable and the indoor lounge is well equipped and a perfect place to relax before retiring. Bathrooms were spotless too. We can’t wait to come back again!
